Knowledge of contraindications to topical fluoride application & dosages/toxicity.
Pre application assessment – to include consent, common soft tissue lesions, appearance of caries.
X-infection control – setting up the environment.

Welcoming the patient.

Videos of Practical Element
Online presentations with voiceover including course content (see below) and videos of practical element of fluoride application.
At least 10 practical applications of topical fluoride, including at least 5 on children. These must be recorded online with reflective element. Signed off by supporting clinician.
Short answer questions and MCQs for assessment of knowledge.
Video of applicant performing an application of topical fluoride.
Certification will be awarded when satisfactory completion of the 10 application logbook, online short answer and MCQs, and video of application (reviewed by consultant in Dental Public Health) has been achieved.
