Dental Nurse Training is committed to ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) for all staff members, tutors, and learners at our training centre.
2. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to enable all to work in an environment without fear of discrimination, harassment or victimisation.
Discrimination occurs in different ways and means treating someone less or more favourable than others. Harassment is unwanted conduct which has the purpose or effect of violating a persons dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for them. Victimisation means discrimination because of a previous complaint.
We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination or victimisation. To that end the purpose of this policy is to provide equality and fairness for all
Our staff will not discriminate directly or indirectly, or harass learners or other staff members because of age, disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation in the provision of the Company’s goods and service
3. Responsibilities
3.1 Company Responsibilities
Dental Nurse Training Ltd commits to:
- Embedding EDI principles into all policies, procedures, and practices.
- Providing training and awareness sessions on equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ensuring recruitment, training, and assessment processes are fair and inclusive.
- Investigating and addressing incidents of discrimination, harassment, or inequality promptly and effectively.
3.2 Staff, Self-Employed Tutors, and Learner Responsibilities
All individuals associated with Dental Nurse Training Ltd are expected to:
- Treat others with dignity and respect at all times.
- Report any concerns relating to discrimination, bullying, harassment, or unfair treatment.
- Engage in training and awareness activities to support EDI.
- Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning and working environment.
4. Reporting and Recording Instances
4.1 How to Report an Incident
Any individual who experiences or witnesses an incident related to discrimination, harassment, or inequality should report it as soon as possible. Reports can be made:
- Verbally or in writing to a tutor, or administrator.
- Directly to the Course Director, who is responsible for investigations.
4.2 Investigation Process
- Upon receiving a report, the Course Director will acknowledge receipt and begin an initial review within five working days.
- A confidential and impartial investigation will be conducted, which may involve interviews and gathering evidence.
- A decision will be made based on the findings, and appropriate actions will be taken.
- The individual who raised the concern will be informed of the outcome and any measures implemented.
4.3 Confidentiality and Record-Keeping
- All reports will be handled with strict confidentiality.
- Records of incidents and investigations will be securely maintained.
- Any personal data collected during the investigation will be processed in accordance with data protection laws.
5. Review and Monitoring
Dental Nurse Training Ltd will regularly review this policy to ensure it remains effective and aligned with best practices. Feedback from staff, tutors, and learners will be considered in future updates.
