Reasonable Adjustments Special Considerations and Fair Access
This policy outlines the procedures for providing reasonable adjustments, special considerations, and fair access to all learners at Dental Nurse Training.
We are committed to ensuring that all learners, regardless of personal challenges or circumstances, have an equal opportunity to succeed in their training and assessments.
2. Reasonable Adjustments
Reasonable adjustments are made to accommodate learners with disabilities or additional needs to ensure they are not disadvantaged during assessments. These adjustments aim to reduce the effect of a disability or difficulty that could affect performance.
Examples of Reasonable Adjustments:
- Additional time in exams or assessments.
- Providing assistance in assessments, such as a reader or scribe.
- Materials in alternative formats, such as large print, audio, or coloured paper.
3. Special Considerations
Special considerations apply to learners facing significant life events or unforeseen circumstances that may impact their performance in assessments. These may include:
Examples of Special Considerations:
- Serious illness or injury during the assessment period.
- Bereavement of a close family member or friend.
- Domestic crisis or emergencies.
- Illness on the day of the exam.
4. Fair Access
Fair access is fundamental to the Dental Nurse Training philosophy. It ensures that no learner is discriminated against based on their background, disability, or personal circumstances. This includes:
- Equal Opportunity: All learners will be provided with equal access to training and assessments, regardless of any physical, mental, or personal challenges.
- Inclusive Practices: The provider will ensure that learners from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities or special needs, receive adequate support and adjustments to allow full participation.
